I am a full time employee and the mother of three children, ages six and under. As you can imagine, there is not enough time in the day to split between three children, let along cutting eight hours out to work Monday through Friday. So for the last three years, I have spent endless hours searching through pages on the Internet to find the best ways to make money from home. I have tried one of just about every type out there including surveys, affiliate sites, and network marketing, all natural product sales and online dollar stores. I have had to pay something to earn anything from all of them and the little bit that I earned was not worth the money or the time that I put into it!
So recently I decided to devote the very little free time that I do have, surfing the net for ways to make money that costed me NOTHING! A friend of mine recommended that I sell some of my children’s name brand clothes on E-bay. I thought it sounded like a reasonable idea, so I did it! I loved it! It was a thrill! I liked talking to the people, making money from items that I had paid nothing for and it was quick! However, the drawbacks included taking the time out to list each item individually and shipping each item individually. Then there were the FEES! When I sat down and added up what I had made and subtracted the fees charged by e-bay and the fees charged by paypal, along with the shipping, I really was not making enough to cover all the work I had to put into it. I needed to find a way to supply the products to sell, that did not cost me anything and a way to streamline shipping so that I didn’t have to spend so much time or money.
I did a general search online for free wholesale membership and I found a few different suppliers offering free limited memberships and drop shipping. Drop shipping is where the wholesale club will ship the item you order right to your customer for you. I thought this sounded perfect! I signed up for them and became what is called a “reseller”. Now that I had found my product source and fixed my shipping problem, I just needed to find a way to list and sell my items without having to pay fees to other companies. Again, I did a search for free online stores and found many options. There are companies out there that will sell you a website for a set price that already includes all the items to sell. Then all you have to do is pay for it! The problem with that is, how many other people have the same store online. It is seriously competitive and it costs!
Then I found a website that supplies free online stores that you can build on your own! They don’t sell you a store already built. They don’t supply the products. They simply give you the website layout already completed and allow you to upload your own product information. It was the perfect solution! Exactly what I was looking for! So now I have a store that has taken a little bit more of my time in the starting, but I did not have to pay one cent for any of it!
I spent approximately three to five hours for about four days copy and pasting all of the product information from the free wholesale sites that I joined and formatting everything. Now, all of basic product information and categories are set up and all I have to do is advertise my site! I list the products for a reasonable price.
I only up sell a couple of dollars from the wholesale price. I make a couple dollars per order and I also serve a purpose to others in providing products at a discount. It is so exciting!
I am willing to share my resources with anyone who is interested! For FREE! I am so proud to say that after three years of searching and being ripped off from the work-at-home world, that I have made it successfully on my own, working from home!
